  30. Setting up a CD-ROM on the A3000 wasn't difficult.  Now, before anyone
  31. says otherwise - let me explain my setup (as I realize that setups vary
  32. from person to person).

  34. I have an A3000 with a 25pin - 50pin Centronics connector on the external
  35. SCSI.  I then have a ribbon cable connected on the 50pin side.  The ribbon
  36. cable sits in a PC mid-tower case, which is ONLY used for a power supply
  37. to the SCSI devices.

  39. When I bought the CD-ROM, the package also included AsimWare's AmiCDFS
  40. software.  I followed their instructions, set the SCSI id to a non conflicting
  41. number, and made sure that it wasn't terminated (I already had termination
  42. on the chain from a 105MB Rodime harddrive).  Plugged it all in, and it
  43. worked flawlessly.

  45. The only problems that I could imagine is if you got a CD-ROM for which
  46. the software didn't support.
