- Setting up a CD-ROM on the A3000 wasn't difficult. Now, before anyone
- says otherwise - let me explain my setup (as I realize that setups vary
- from person to person).
-
- I have an A3000 with a 25pin - 50pin Centronics connector on the external
- SCSI. I then have a ribbon cable connected on the 50pin side. The ribbon
- cable sits in a PC mid-tower case, which is ONLY used for a power supply
- to the SCSI devices.
-
- When I bought the CD-ROM, the package also included AsimWare's AmiCDFS
- software. I followed their instructions, set the SCSI id to a non conflicting
- number, and made sure that it wasn't terminated (I already had termination
- on the chain from a 105MB Rodime harddrive). Plugged it all in, and it
- worked flawlessly.
-
- The only problems that I could imagine is if you got a CD-ROM for which
- the software didn't support.
